President-elect Donald Trump nominated Kashyap Pramod Vinod aka Kash Patel or Kashyap Patel, an Indian-American attorney and former government agent, to serve as Director of the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation). Trump said that Kash Patel was a key figure in exposing the false claims about Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election. He strongly believes in honesty, responsibility, and upholding the Constitution.

Who is Kash Patel?

Kash Patel, a 44-year-old lawyer, is known for his controversial past. Patel was born in Garden City, New York in 1980 to Gujarati Indian parents who had immigrated to the United States from East Africa, via Canada. His father worked as a financial officer for an aviation firm.

He had a successful career as a lawyer and politician. Patel worked as a public defender and then as a prosecutor for the Department of Justice, handling over 60 jury trials.

Kash Patel has seen several times criticising the FBI and Justice Department, and accusing them of corruption. He also described FBI as “compromised” in his one of the books and said that it needs drastic reforms. He also advocates for declassifying sensitive government documents and revamping security protocols.

Role Kash Patel played during Trump’s First Term

After joining the Trump administration, he took on several important government positions. During Trump’s first term, Kash Patel served as a U.S. National Security Council official, senior advisor to the acting Director of National Intelligence, and chief of staff to the acting United States secretary of defense.

As a Republican, Patel worked closely with Congressman Devin Nunes when Nunes was the head of the House Intelligence Committee.

Patel has always been called a Trump Loyalist, as Patel while being an aide to Congressman Nunes, played a key role in helping Republicans during investigations into Trump and Russian interference in the 2016 election.
