Country Music Association (CMA) established in 1958, and became the first trade organization formed to promote an individual genre of music. in 1967, It held its first Awards Banquet and Show and in 1968, CMA Awards was for the very first time broadcast on NBC Television – which made it the longest running, annual music awards program on television network. The show began airing on the ABC Television Network back in 2006 where it still airs on date.
Country Music Association institutes awards in various categories in Music, and each year, the Awards nominees and winners are finalised by around 6,000 industry professional members of the Country Music Association.
