The New York Jets are casting a wide net in their search for a new head coach, and they’re taking a look at Brian Griese, the quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers.

Griese, a former NFL quarterback himself, has been a key part of the 49ers’ success, especially in developing young quarterback Brock Purdy.

The Jets are looking for a new leader after firing Robert Saleh mid-season. They’re also interviewing other coaches, like Rex Ryan and Ron Rivera. 

It’s still early, but Griese’s experience working with young quarterbacks could make him a strong candidate for the Jets.
